Updating to Audacity 1.2.5
A previous version of Audacity is already installed on the computer. It is time to update to the current version 1.2.5 that has been released on October 30, 2006.
Download Audacity

Visit Audacity download sectionVisit the download section of audacity.
Click on the hyperlink to get the installer file.

Select a mirrorSelect a mirror for the download.

Press button to safe installer on desktopFirefox asks whether to save the file audacity-win-1.2.5.exe on the desktop.
Install Audacity

audacity-win-1.2.5.exeThe file audacity-win-1.2.5.exe is now saved on the Windows XP desktop.
Double-click on the file to run the Audacity setup wizard.

Audacity setup wizardWelcome to the Audacity setup wizard. Audacity 1.2.5 will be installed.
Click Next to continue.

Agree to the license agreementAgree to the license agreement. Audacity is distributed under the terms of the GNU General public license.
Accept the agreement.

Press the Next buttonPress the Next button.

Where should Audacity be installed?Select the destination location where Audacity should be installed.
A previous version of Audacity had been installed in a subfolder located in the TrueCrypt volume Z:.
About 8 MB of free disk space is required.

Press the Next buttonNow there would be the chance to select a different folder than the folder in the encrypted volume Z:.
Click Next to confirm that the installation should take place in the mounted volume Z:.

The folder already existsThe folder already exists. Press Yes to install to that folder anyway. So the old version of Audacity will be replaced with the new version.

Create a desktop iconCreate a desktop icon as additional ask. So it will be easy to start the Audacity application.

Press the Next buttonPress the Next button.

The Audacity setup is ready to start the installation.
The destination location will be a subfolder in the TrueCrypt volume Z:.
A desktop icon will be created.

Press the Install buttonPress the Install button.

Press finish to launch AudacityAudacity is now installed on your computer. Press finish to exit the setup and launch Audacity.
